TO: Certified Assessors
The 2013 Municipal Assessment Report (MAR) and Tax Incremental District Assessment Report (TAR) are now available to electronically file with the Department of Revenue. Instructions are provided below. Reports must be filed electronically – we do not accept paper versions of the MAR or TAR.
Municipal Assessor Report (MAR)
- The MAR for each municipality is due by June 10, 2013 (second Monday in June).
- File a FINAL report by June 10 if the Board of Review has adjourned.
- File an ESTIMATED report by June 10 if the Board of Review has not adjourned, and then file a FINAL report within 10 days after the final adjournment.
- File an AMENDED report only to make corrections to your final report. Amended reports are due by December 31, 2013.
- File MAR online | Instructions (PDF) – see pages 1-2 for a summary of changes
- Late filed MARs may have an adverse impact on equalized values and allowable levy limits, and may result in review of your Assessor certification.
- The August 2013 Net New Construction Report will only reflect values reported on a timely filed MAR. Information provided after the filing date will be reflected in the 2014 Net New Construction values.
Tax Incremental District Assessment Report (TAR)
- The TAR for each municipality is due by June 10, 2013 (second Monday in June).
- File a FINAL report by June 10 if the Board of Review has adjourned.
- File an ESTIMATED report by June 10 if the Board of Review has not Adjourned, and then file a FINAL report within 10 days after the final adjournment.
- File an AMENDED report only to make corrections to your final report. Amended reports are due by January 31, 2014.
- File TAR online | Instructions (PDF)
- If the report is not received by June 10, we will certify the last year's non-manufacturing full value of the TID for the current year's non-manufacturing value.
- Late filed TARs may result in review of your Assessor certification.
Reminder - Exempt Computer Report (ECR) is due today – May 1, 2013
